November 22, 2013 Brandthropology Partners with City Market to Launch New Website
We love City Market. It’s one of the iconic brands that make Burlington the place we know and love. A while back, they retained us to do an audit of their marketing and branding. One of the key findings from that review was the need for a greatly improved website. There were a number of challenges with the old site; it needed to move from a ‘let me tell you about me” structure to a “how can I serve you?” platform; it needed to embrace responsive design (i.e., serve desktop, tablets and mobile platforms fluidly); it needed an improved, streamlined navigation so that content could be served to logical target segments, rather than being confined within areas defined by the Coop’s own internal organizational structures.
City Market’s talented in-house marketing department and designers took all these in-puts on board, and set about re-designing the site and re-configuring the navigation. After having completed a lot of the heavy lifting, they asked us to provide back-end development support to complete the project. Working within the open source CMS Drupal, we structured the responsive design to work across any device, regardless of screen size, and helped City Market populate the new content within it.
The result? A new website that plays a starring role at the center of the Coop’s marketing system. We couldn’t be prouder that it now embraces the wonderfully participatory nature of the Coop, and harness the latest technologies to facilitate its rich Coop & Member dialog.
