We’ve been working with Merchants Bank to help them stand up and embrace their role as Vermont's largest locally owned bank. A part of that effort, new work will shortly go on air featuring the tagline “Where Do You Want To Grow?”. This ad, part of a larger campaign, will help Merchants Bank own its local re-investment story, while also underscoring the bank's important role in helping businesses and customers realize their goals. It's been fun for us to help evolve a brand of such enduring local stature (it's been around Burlington for over 165 years -- see the article we wrote about the bank's history in the Burlington Free Press). This work has also provided us a platform for telling a Vermont economic development story with force and feeling; as such, the work is an important example of the 'fusion' message that we've been calling for that ties our state's verdant nature/recreation story with an economic development message.
